How is the service you provide different from a large tutoring company?
Students meet one-on-one with the same Learning Specialist each session. Working as a team, the child’s parents, Learning Specialist, and classroom teacher, if requested, devise a plan to help reach a student’s areas of needs. This may include, but not limited to, homework help, specialized instruction in academic weaker areas, and/ or enrichment for students that are ready for additional challenges. Unlike a large tutoring center, EtB does not use contracts. The relationship built between a student and their Learning Specialist is developed through trust. Students learn how to thrive and progress, even when mistakes are made.
How long is each session?
Sessions are typically designed to be 50 – 55 minutes in length. Younger students, such as our PreK friends, may request shorter sessions. Learning Specialists typically leave 5 – 10 minutes to share progress notes with parents.
How many sessions per week do students meet with their Learning Specialist?
The number of sessions is determined by the student team (parents, Educational Solutionist, other providers, such as teacher, etc.). Students requiring minor support, such as homework help, may make adequate progress meeting once a week. Students with an identified learning disability or learning difference, may benefit from meeting more frequently. It is common for students to meet 2 – 3 times per week.
Where do you meet your students?
Our office is located at 235 S. Maitland Ave., Suite 105, Maitland, FL 32751. We are located across the street from the Maitland Fire Department. For an additional fee, our Learning Specialists can meet your child at an off-site location, such as your home, school, or other location.
Can I arrange to have more than one student tutored during a session?
