How do the sessions work?
Each session is personalized for your child. Students are placed in one of three levels of service: Level 1 – General Tutoring, Homework Help, Level 2 – Personalized, Intense Instruction, or Level 3 – Highly Specialized, Intense Instruction. Sessions are typically 1:1, and are typically 50-minutes in length. Frequency will be recommended by impact of area of need.
Do you work with Homeschoolers or FLVS students?
Our homeschool friends can participate in our Deep Dive (link) classes or 1:1 sessions (link). Our Deep Dive specialist provides a yearly theme that has monthly focuses. Using hands-on, multi-sensory activities, the students learn history, science, literature, and writing.
Our homeschoolers that may need individual instruction enjoy our 1:1 format. Family selected curriculum is utilized, if requested. Reinforcement activities are available for families that would like activities to do at home in between sessions.
We also provide academic testing (KTEA-3) or portfolio evaluations as requested by your county school district.
Students that need support while attending FLVS classes may receive additional 1:1 guidance and teaching at EtB. Our instructors are familiar with the FLVS format and instruction.
Please note that EtB is not a school. We do not provide transcripts or report cards.
What grades, ages, and areas do you work with?
Our EtB learners range from PreK – adult. We offer academic support in reading, writing, math, executive functioning, behavior support, speech/language, and cognitive memory. We also support families, schools, and are a support to our community.
Do you provide distance learning or off-site sessions?
Yes, we utilize an online platform, such as Skype or Google Hangouts to “meet” with our non-local students. Distance does not stop you from receiving services with EtB! We also provide off-site sessions at your child’s school (school permission needed) or home (fees apply).
What services do you provide to support schools?
We love working with our schools and supporting our community. We provide our Level 2 and 3 services at partnering schools, meeting with our students 1:1 for 30-minutes. We strive to meet with these students during non-academic, and convenient times. Our specialists not only work with the students, but also provide input to the teachers, as requested. Our goal is to provide a team approach for our students so they see success no matter where the learning in happening!
EtB is also excited to announce workshops and informative sessions. We offer a 1-hour workshop of your choice for free each year to our local schools. Topics can be requested by the schools. Most common topic requests include: Reading, Emotions and the Impact on Learning, Brain Based Instruction and What It Means, Differential Instruction, Engaging Learners in the Classroom, and Understanding Learning (Differences). Give us a call today to set up your free workshop. Workshops are typically held at your school.
In addition, we offer school consultations, assistance in implementing accommodations, modifications, developing individual school plans, and best practices for students with and without learning differences.
Do you offer support groups or resources?
We consider ourselves a community resource. Please feel free to stop by and visit our growing resource library. We also offer support groups for families dealing with differences, such as ADHD, dyslexia, and general learning differences. We aim to bring in national speakers, live webinar speakers, and other resources to educate and bring our community together.
